'Five Lakes bid farewell to the Links course'

The last competitive competition was held on the Links course Saturday 5th March.

The new ownership of Five Lakes has plans to create a new model for golf at Five Lakes. This will mean converting the Links course into a 9 hole par 3 course shortly. As a final farewell to the course a 3 ball Texas Scramble was played.

With a very competitive score of nett 63 the team of  Peter Millar, Adam Rutter and Steve Smith returned a nett 63, 3rd place with a nett score of 62 went to Ron Colbert, Richard Hardy-King and Phil Robson losing on countback to, Patrick Mott, Malcolm Pitt and Nigel Popper on the same score with a better back 9 holes.

However, winners were Jack Mahon, Thomas Vass and Riley Ward with a nett 60.

Nearest the pins were won by Phil Robson's team on the 8th, Nigel Popper's team on the 10th, Thomas Vass's team 16th Cathy Burchell's team won the ladies nearest the pin in 3.

After the competition, the golf club held a raffle in aid of Ukrainian people and they raised £375 and with the government promising to double all charity funds raised this will make a contribution of £670.
