'Popper and King win the 5th round'

Fifty-Five Lakes members played the 5th round of this year's Winter League Sunday 30th January.

Three pairs accumulated 40 Stableford points to be just outside the prizes, Danny Owen & Lee Stafford, Alan Garnett & Dave Watson and Paul Beckwith & Ian Hughes. Third place went to Mick Gill & Dave Rogers with 41 points, 2nd Slot went to Andrew Gilbert & Eric Howlett with 42 points beaten on countback from the eventual winners Nigel Popper & Richard Hardy King.

Birdie Balls were won by six pairs, Colin Jenkins & Mick Seeley and Mick Gill & Dave Rogers on the 4th, Jack Mahon & Riley Ward on the 8th who also had an eagle on the par 5 18th, Matt & Sam Mortimer Ford, Paul Beckwith & Ian Hughes and Alan Garnett & Dave Watson n the 16th.
