Jack Garnett at the 'Lagonda Trophy'

“JACK GARNETT ACHIEVES A FANTASTIC 2nd PLACE IN THE LAGONDA TROPHY”

Jack has this week competed in the world ranking Lagonda Trophy over 72 holes at the Championship Course at Gog Magog Golf Club in Cambridgeshire. Qualifying for this prestigious event is an achievement with 66 of the country’s best amateur golfers all playing from a maximum handicap of plus 2 which was the cut off level in the ballot. Previous winners of the trophy include Lee Westwood, Luke Donald and Andy Sullivan. The event was held over two days and Jack played 4 fantastic rounds of golf shooting 72, 68, 67 and 65. In what must have been an incredibly tense final day for him he shot a 67 with his first round and finished with a 65. Only three golfers finished under par out of this very strong field on a tough golf course, Jack cemented his 2nd place by shooting 17 birdies over the 72 holes to finish with a superb total of 272 being 8 under par. He started the final day 6 shots behind the halfway leader who was 6 under. Jack finished one shy of the winning score of 9 under. I’m sure we would all like to congratulate Jack who has done himself and Five Lakes very proud. From all of us at Five Lakes, a big WELL DONE JACK.
