COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 UPDATE

The courses remain open currently and we plan to leave it up to individuals to decide if they wish to play. The tee times for all swindles remain available for club members to use as tee times but we remain of the view that all CLUB RUN SWINDLES SHOULD BE CANCELLED for the foreseeable future. This includes the Wednesday Swindle and Barron of Beef.  The popular Shinners Sinners is not a club run swindle so will be left to the organisers and individuals to decide.

We are advising against gathering in the bar before and after your round and would recommend that those that wish to play meet on the first tee and either form their own four balls on the morning or preferably before arriving.

We would also advise in addition to the standard government guidelines regarding Covid-19 we recommend the following:

* Accept players will not shake hands at the start and end of the round. We would even discourage the elbow bump as it breaks the 2-metre guideline. A polite nod will suffice.

* Contact with the flagstick should be kept to a minimum and we would encourage each group to agree their own acceptable gimmee distance, some courses have even adopted the view that if you are on the green you can opt for an automatic two-putt but again that is up to you and your fellow players to agree.

* If you do putt out remove your ball from the hole with your gloved hand

* Air hose with your gloved hand

* Players are recommended NOT to touch other players equipment, including passing back other players golf ball.

* Players reminded to sanitise or thoroughly wash hands-on entry and exit from the clubhouse. We would especially state that you are to wash your hands upon finishing your round

* Observe the 2-metre distance guideline from your playing partners and all others.  We would encourage you to walk down the fairways 2 metres apart from your co players

* Do not swap scorecards, currently, we are awaiting further guidance regarding our use of the touchscreen, until such time we will discourage the use of the IG system at the club.

We are in discussion with the Greens Staff about some other changes and will keep you updated once these are agreed.
