Potters Resorts Five Lakes Golf Club

Junior Competition

George Woodhead blew the opposition away with a staggering 48 points to win his first Junior Competition.

On Wednesday 7th August the golf shop at Five Lakes, organised by Gary & Ben, hosted the first junior competition at the club in over two years.

The juniors played on a windy but sunny afternoon on the Links course providing some excellent Stableford scoring in tough conditions.

Third place went to James Roblin (15) with a very respectable 38 points off the yellow tees, second place went to Riley Ward (15) with a fantastic 41 points. But, the standout player on the day was 11-year-old George Woodhead who took first place with 48 points playing off a now suspicious 36 handicap.

The response and turnout from the juniors for the competition was brilliant, and with the growing number of junior golfers at the club we look forward to the future for the junior section.

Gary and Ben will be looking into organising another junior competition over the school summer holidays, and if any juniors would like to take part then please email golfpro@fivelakes.co.uk
