Andy wins Captains Day at Five Lakes'

Five Lakes Golf Club Captain Eric Howlett held his Captains day competition Saturday 27th July which was enjoyed by the 106 members who entered in this celebration.

This 18 hole Stableford competition held on the Lakes course, played in the most in rain, wind and occasional sunny conditions t did not prevent enjoying Eric's day.

Andrew Gilbert (17) won the day with 42 Stableford points with an outstanding display, he was followed by another 17 handicapper Peter Millar with 41 points, 3rd place was decided on countback with two players on 39 points Andy Lee(12) beating Derek Monaghan (15) on countback.

There were also 6 players who returned respectable 38 points, Thoma Vass (6), Chris John Lee (21), David Rogers (6), Chris Pearson (7), Donald Leech (21) and John Mayle (12).

Nearest the pins were won by John Rogers on the 8th and Ash Patel on the 16th. Danny Owen won the Putting competition.
