Congratulations to former member and Thorndon Cup player Dale Whitnell on his first DP World Tour win at the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed in Sweden this weekend.
It was great to see our Head Professional Craig Lockwood there to support him.
We are also delighted to announce that club member Jackson Garnett won the Essex Amateur Title on Sunday at Bentley Golf Club.
There was a 72-man field and Jackson carded 69 (-3), 71 (-1), 74 (+2), 69 (-3)
He was 3 back heading into the back 9 of the last round. An eagle, two birdies and one bogey on the back 9 got him to 3 under for the round and into a play-off. Jackson made a par on the first playoff hole which was good enough to take the victory.
